I’m so excited to have you here! It’s no surprise that Indian weddings are a time when family, tradition and celebration come together, and our celebrations are ones people talk about years. Seriously, the horse carriage (or elephant), the live music, the dances, and songs, and dancing… and the FOOD. You can’t compare it to any other wedding, it’s so unique (and it’s fun that your co-workers think that your wedding might be 7 days long).
Nowadays mixing Indian and American traditions is essential to make a wedding unique, especially if you’re like me, who grew up in the US. But behind the “Ooh’s” and the “Aah’s” of a fabulous Indian wedding usually comes the stress, the family drama, and the craziness of planning the BIG FAT Indian wedding. It doesn’t matter if you have a planner and lots of people “helping out,” much of the weight is still on you to manage the work.
As I planned “my” wedding, I spent hours online looking for resources – not only fantasy ideas but ideas I could actually use. Much of the “advice” I was finding online wasn’t relevant. I spent HOURS perusing the internet. Pinterest is a time suck, and so is google for that matter. You just can’t stop when you can’t find what you’re looking for. The internet provides great inspiration and ideas, but it’s way too overwhelming when you don’t have enough time to go through 9 pages of search results.
And on top of that, how do you actually bring all of those ideas to life, organize timelines, manage vendors, manage family requests (aka demands), and everything else in between (ugh!)? I didn’t need help with planning a rehearsal dinner or figuring out attendants, I needed help with how to create a fun unique pre-wedding event (for an Indian wedding).

That’s why I created Indian Wedding Toolkit – to help today’s busy Indian brides feel confident and prepared so they can be guests at their own wedding (what you’re supposed to be!).
We’re here to help you stay organized with relevant time-saving planning tools, tips, tricks, and resources, and more importantly save you hours of time, energy, stress, tears, and family drama .. (I wish I was joking about the last part)! And some of that info you don’t even know that you need yet!
So here we go…. the journey that you’ll always remember, the Indian wedding planning journey that leads to the next phase of your life (which is even better than being engaged)….
Cheers to the wedding of your dreams,
Satya
